Building on the initial exercise that defined essential dwelling space, ENCLOSURE interrogated the material assembly that could best contain it. Each team developed a series of theses about the technical roles played by the constituent layers of an enclosure and their resulting position within the system. The theses gave rise to newly defined enclosures – performative membranes that mediate the gray space between exterior and interior, host fixtures and equipment, and negotiate edges, overlaps, corners, and ground.
